We have this week received notification that our membership application to the British Marine Federation has been successful. Since Western Horizon Yachts launch we have adhered to the strictest code of practice and all the rules laid out by the federation for the protection of buyers and sellers alike; however membership of the BMF gives our customers the assurance of more than 'our word for it' that we comply to their standards in every way.
In the light of various high profile collapses in the marine industry in recent times it is more than understandable that people are sometimes afraid to hand over their money to a broker. To answer this fear, the British Marine Federation now require that all broker members provide a letter from their bank stating that client funds are held separately from business funds and that there is no right of transfer between the accounts. We have always done this, but now buyers and sellers can be certain that their funds are safe in the event of failure of the company.
This isnt the only benefit to our customers though. Membership of the BMF also opens up access to a vast network of industry knowledge and support.
If you've viewed one of our boats in Scotland the chances are you have met Rob, our voice of experience and enthusiasm.
