jelly

22-year-old jelly lives aboard her 37ft sailing ketch in Brighton with her dog Bosun. After leaving school at 14 to become home educated, she decided to write a book and find a publisher for it – How Teenagers Think came out in 2007 and led to a successful career as a freelance youth insight consultant and public speaker. At the age of 18 jelly fell in love with a boy, and a boat, and lived with the boy on the boat for two years in Gosport, regularly cruising the Solent and south coast. She then broke up with the boy but kept the boat, and has been aboard in Brighton marina for nearly a year and a half. jelly spends some of her week as a social media specialist at a digital marketing agency in town, and devotes the rest of her time to freelance work. jelly’s writing often appears in national sailing magazines – including Yachting Monthly and Practical Boat Owner – and she is also currently working with her literary agent on her second book.
