There are so many reasons as to why people love sailing. The love of sailing sees such a diversity in how this is actioned, the people sailing involves, and the diversity of situations and circumstances in which sailing takes place. The Facebook page, �I Love sailing will be featuring much of this diversity and the flow on effects. Much of this diversity can be found on the �Likes� list.
Sailing provides a unique setting where one can become a part of one�s environment and with others, reading and engaging the elements � how to use the boat one is on as a part of one�s self.
Sailing is an activity where we are literally all in this experience �together� engaging in with the elements, boat and sail handling the same way, with the same laws of nature. There is a sort of universal-ness to sailing that brings with it an experience of enabling, facilitating, empowerment and challenges to many of us as individuals and as a crew (community) when sailing.
Sailing in short affords us a special kind of �freedom�.
Being on the water is for many very centring � peaceful and yet energising. Sailing draws you in and engages on all levels. That is one�s heart, mind, body and soul, are involved in varying degrees when engaging in with the elements, self, and others in a way where best outcomes, solutions and decisions are to the fore. This does not negate people�s negative experiences with the elements or crew. One is in an environment where one has to deal with such and can in a unique living context. Out on the water, one�s mortality � survival is more to the fore, and so the value of life is more of a given which tends to re-orientate one � a positive focus. But all with the same common bond in that we love sailing.
So from here I I�d like to invite you who love sailing to visit the fb page, �I Love Sailing� like and share your sailing experiences, photos, insights, poems, and journeying, boat food, historical info, anything pertaining to why you love sailing. While there are many sites where people share their photos ( like many of these myself), I see the fb page � I Love Sailing � as valuable gathering point for sharing and drawing attention to other fb sailing sites and the stories with in the stories.
Well with that said, I�m off sailing and so is my camera�.
